{"id":6004,"date":"2011-11-08T19:05:52","date_gmt":"2011-11-08T23:05:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=6004"},"modified":"2011-11-08T19:05:52","modified_gmt":"2011-11-08T23:05:52","slug":"rip-smokin-joe-frazier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=6004","title":{"rendered":"RIP: Smokin&#8217; Joe Frazier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2011\/z110811joe_frazier.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"357\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last night the world lost one of the <strong>greatest fighters<\/strong> to ever enter a boxing ring.\u00a0<strong><em> Smokin&#8217; <\/em>Joe Frazier <\/strong>passed away at the age of<strong> 67<\/strong> from liver cancer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Joe Frazier<\/strong> only lost <strong>4 times<\/strong> [twice to <strong>Muhammad Ali<\/strong> and twice to <strong>George Foreman<\/strong>] in his career which saw him crowned the<strong> heavyweight champion of the world<\/strong>. \u00a0<strong> Joe Frazier <\/strong>will forever be remembered as the <strong>first<\/strong> man to beat <strong>Muhammad Ali<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although he fought <strong>Ali <\/strong>two more times [losing by decision in the first rematch], it is their third meeting, <em><strong>The Thrilla in Manilla<\/strong><\/em> that many consider to be the <strong>greatest boxing match ever<\/strong>. \u00a0 After the <strong>fourteenth round<\/strong>, with <strong>Joe&#8217;s eyes<\/strong> swelling shut, his trainer,<strong> Eddie Futch<\/strong> called the fight.\u00a0 <strong>Futch<\/strong> then said to<strong> Joe<\/strong>, &#8220;Sit down, son. &#8220;It&#8217;s all over.
