What a great time<\/strong> I had today.\u00a0 I woke up early, but since I have the next couple of weeks off, I was able to take my time to leisurely get ready for my trip to Orlando<\/strong> to see my buddies, Jim Ivey<\/strong> [in the middle looking like a thin Santa<\/strong>] and Rob Smith, Jr.<\/strong> [on the left, looking like he’s starting a Santa<\/strong> beard himself].\u00a0 We were joined by Charles Treadwell,<\/strong> who like Jim<\/strong> and Rob<\/strong>, is also an artist.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n We met at Junior’s Diner<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and for nearly three hours<\/strong> we had breakfast<\/strong> and a lot of fun<\/strong>.\u00a0 We shared stories<\/strong> from the past, caught up on what has been happening in our lives, and basically shot the bull.\u00a0 The food<\/strong> was excellent<\/strong> and the company even better<\/strong>.\u00a0 Since I drove Jim<\/strong>, it was my duty to get him back home, but not without a trip to Charlie’s Bakery<\/span><\/strong><\/span> for a box of double-chocolate chip<\/strong> and oatmeal cookies<\/strong> to go with the cigars<\/strong> and lottery tickets<\/strong> that I got him for Christmas.\u00a0 When we got back to Jim’s<\/strong> it was just in time to see his old buddy, Roy<\/strong>, pull in.\u00a0 Roy<\/strong> was carrying a bag of books<\/strong> and more for Jim<\/strong>.\u00a0 Christmas<\/strong> indeed came early for Mr. Ivey<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n Shawn Surface<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> had planned to attend the breakfast get-together, but obligations at work forced him to cancel.\u00a0 Shawn<\/strong> told me to swing by his work if I could because he had a sketch<\/strong> he’d drawn for me.\u00a0 So after dropping off Jim<\/strong>, I called Shawn<\/strong>, who said to come on by.\u00a0 I did and things were slow enough that Shawn<\/strong> and I were able to hang out for a bit.\u00a0 We talked about Shawn’s progress<\/strong> on Kuduman<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a new series<\/strong>, Shawn<\/strong> plans to debut in 2012<\/strong>.\u00a0 Shawn<\/strong> also gifted me with a very cool Stallone<\/strong> as Judge Dredd<\/strong> sketch that I’ll post in the coming weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n Finally it was time for me to get back on the road for my drive home.\u00a0 I was smiling the whole way back.\u00a0 I can’t remember the last time I had such a relaxed, free-flowing day with friends. <\/strong> What a great time I had today.\u00a0 I woke up early, but since I have the next couple of weeks<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":912,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false},"categories":[58],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6186","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-art"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6186","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/912"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=6186"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6186\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":27942,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6186\/revisions\/27942"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=6186"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=6186"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=6186"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
