text-align: justify;\"><strong>UFC 148<\/strong> was held last night and featured <strong>three fights<\/strong> that had my interest.\u00a0 Normally, I post my predictions <strong>prior<\/strong> to the events [otherwise they wouldn&#8217;t be predictions, would they?) and then the results the following day.\u00a0 I just couldn&#8217;t decide who I thought or wanted to win.\u00a0 So no predictions this time, but here are the results and my thoughts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Cung Le<\/strong> defeated <strong>Patrick Cote<\/strong> by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)<br \/>\n<strong>Thoughts<\/strong>: Although he&#8217;s <strong>40<\/strong>, <strong>Le<\/strong> is still in excellent form.\u00a0 I always enjoy watching <strong>Cote<\/strong> fight and actually thought the fight was closer than the judges (although I still gave the edge to <strong>Le<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Forrest Griffin<\/strong> defeated <strong>Tito Ortiz<\/strong> by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)<strong><br \/>\nThoughts:<\/strong> This was an <strong>interesting fight<\/strong> with a good deal of back and forth.\u00a0 After the final round, <strong>Griffin<\/strong> left the ring in a hurry (a la his loss to <strong>Anderson Silva<\/strong>) and had to be called back to the cage for the decision&#8230;. which he won.\u00a0 Leaving the cage before the decision is read shows a<strong> lack of respect<\/strong> for the other fighter and fans.\u00a0 This is the second time that <strong>Griffin<\/strong> has done that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Anderson Silva<\/strong> defeated <strong>Chael Sonnen<\/strong> by TKO\u00a0(Ref Stoppage, 2nd Round, 1:55)<strong><br \/>\nThoughts: Sonnen<\/strong> took<strong> Silva<\/strong> down four seconds into the first round and totally dominated him.\u00a0 It seemed like this could be a replay of the first fight.<\/p>\n<p>The second round quickly showed that wouldn&#8217;t be the case.\u00a0 <strong>Silva<\/strong> stuffed a takedown and then rocked <strong>Sonnen<\/strong>.\u00a0 Both men ended up against the cage and <strong>Sonnen<\/strong> was unable to take <strong>Silva<\/strong> down.<br \/>\nWhen <strong>Sonnen<\/strong> missed with a spinning backfist and fell to the mat, <strong>Silva<\/strong> kneed him in the chest and then rained down punches.\u00a0 The ref stepped in to stop it.<\/p>\n<p>Although I think the fight could have gone on a bit longer, there&#8217;s no doubt that <strong>Silva<\/strong> was in control and I&#8217;d rather see a fight stopped too early than too late.\u00a0 <strong><\/p>\n<p>Silva<\/strong> showed class in the post fight interview when talking about <strong>Sonnen<\/strong>.\u00a0 (However when asked in the post fight conference, if he would like to fight <strong>Jon Jones<\/strong>, <strong>Silva<\/strong> simply replied, &#8220;No.&#8221;\u00a0 Where&#8217;s the champion&#8217;s heart, <strong>Anderson<\/strong>?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;
