{"id":8175,"date":"2013-04-28T08:08:32","date_gmt":"2013-04-28T12:08:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=8175"},"modified":"2021-05-22T09:47:51","modified_gmt":"2021-05-22T13:47:51","slug":"ufc-159-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=8175","title":{"rendered":"UFC 159 Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2013\/z042813ufc159_results.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>UFC 159<\/strong>\u00a0was held last night.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Here are my predictions and the results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Jim Miller<\/strong>\u00a0vs.\u00a0<strong>Pat Healy<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Prediction:\u00a0<\/strong>Miller\u00a0with a decision win.<br \/>\n<strong>Result:<\/strong>\u00a0Healy defeated Jim Miller with a rear-naked choke submission in the 3rd making me <strong>0 -1<\/strong> for the night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><strong>Phil Davis<\/strong>\u00a0vs.\u00a0<strong>Vinny Magalhaes<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Prediction:<\/strong>\u00a0Davis\u00a0with a decision win.<br \/>\n<strong>Result:\u00a0<\/strong>Davis won by Unanimous Decision making me <strong>1 &#8211; 1<\/strong> for the night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><strong>Roy Nelson<\/strong>\u00a0vs.\u00a0<strong>Cheick Kongo<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Prediction<\/strong>: Nelson wins via KO.<br \/>\n<strong>Result:<\/strong>\u00a0Nelson won with a first round KO making me <strong>2 &#8211; 1<\/strong> for the night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Michael Bisping<\/strong>\u00a0vs.<strong>\u00a0Alan Belcher<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Prediction<\/strong>: Bisping wins via decision.<br \/>\n<strong>Result:<\/strong>\u00a0Bisping defeated Alan Belcher by Technical Decision after an accidental eye poke in the 3rd. This made me <strong>3 &#8211; 1<\/strong> for the night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jon Jones<\/strong>\u00a0vs.\u00a0<strong>Chael Sonnen<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Prediction:<\/strong> Jones wins\u00a0via stoppage.<br \/>\n<strong>Result:\u00a0<\/strong>Jones won by TKO in the first taking me to <strong>4 -1<\/strong> for the night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Final Thoughts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; As expected, Jones was the dominate fighter. \u00a0Although Jones won, during the post fight interview Jones looked down and realized his big toe had been badly broken. \u00a0If the fight had made it to the second round, there is no doubt that it would have been stopped due to the\u00a0injury&#8217;s severity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To his credit Sonnen had this to say: &#8220;If they would have called the match [in Sonnen&#8217;s favor because of Jones&#8217; broken toe], I wouldn&#8217;t have had any illusions. I knew in those first five minutes who the better fighter was.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Jones will need some time to heal before his next fight, but who can challenge him? \u00a0Anderson Silva? \u00a0I don&#8217;t think so. \u00a0I think Jones will have to move to heavyweight if he really wants to test himself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Sonnen hinted at retirement. \u00a0I don&#8217;t see that happening. \u00a0He enjoys the challenge of a good fight too much.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Roy Nelson is back in the title hunt with his third straight KO. \u00a0Who doesn&#8217;t love Big Country&#8230; well, except for Dana White?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UFC 159\u00a0was held last night.\u00a0 Here are my predictions and the results: Jim Miller\u00a0vs.\u00a0Pat Healy Prediction:\u00a0Miller\u00a0with a decision win.
