John Carpenter’s The Thing<\/strong><\/a> is\u00a0a classic in the horror genre<\/strong>. \u00a0Most fans consider it Carpenter’s<\/strong> high-water mark.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What many don’t know is that The Thing<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 that was released to theaters was very different from what was originally planned and filmed. \u00a0When Carpenter<\/strong> saw a rough cut he realized that the movie didn’t work. \u00a0It lacked tension (can you believe that?), the pace was slow and MacCready<\/strong> (played by Kurt Russell<\/strong>) was just another face in the crowd.<\/p>\n
