{"id":887,"date":"2004-01-19T14:59:00","date_gmt":"2004-01-19T18:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=887"},"modified":"2015-12-22T14:50:59","modified_gmt":"2015-12-22T18:50:59","slug":"random-movie-thoughts-2004","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=887","title":{"rendered":"Random Movie Thoughts 2004"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Here are some random thoughts on <b>Movies Coming Out This Year<\/b>&#8230;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <\/div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Alien vs Predator&#8221; <\/b>could<b> <\/b>be like when the two  baddest guys in school fought&#8230; it wasn&#8217;t pretty but ya just had to go  watch<b>.\n<p><\/b> <\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Catwoman&#8221;<\/b> starring <b>Halle Berry<\/b> should have been a winner. The  buzz on it is terrible and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aint-it-cool-news.com\/display.cgi?id=16800\" target=\"_blank\">looking at her outfit you can see why<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;The Stepford Wives&#8221;<\/b> doesn&#8217;t do much for me, but then again neither  did the original. Maybe it will surprise me but I&#8217;m not counting on it.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>M. Knight Shyamalan<\/b>&#8216;s<b> &#8220;The Village&#8221;<\/b> is getting a mixed  reception so far, but it&#8217;s still early and<b> Shyamalan<\/b>&#8216;s past track record  is excellent. I hoping for really good things.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Harry Potter and the Prisoner of&#8230;&#8221; &#8211;<\/b>&#8211; I&#8217;ve yet to see the others,  so this one is below my radar.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow&#8221; <\/b>is the movie I&#8217;m most  anticipating at this point. [Well, except for <b>&#8220;Shade&#8221;<\/b>&#8230; and <b>&#8220;The  Chronicles of Riddick&#8221;<\/b>]. This could be the surprise hit of the  season.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Collateral&#8221;<\/b> teams <b>Michael Mann<\/b> and <b>Tom Cruise<\/b>. This  should be excellent, but the story doesn&#8217;t thrill me&#8230; or maybe it&#8217;s the  casting of <b>Jamie Fox<\/b>.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;I, Robot&#8221;<\/b> has potential&#8230; <b>Will Smith<\/b> in a movie  based on an <b>Issac Assimov<\/b> story directed by <b>Alex<\/b> [&#8220;Dark City&#8221; and  &#8220;The Crow&#8221;] <b>Proyas<\/b>? Yeah, count me in.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Kill Bill, Volume 2&#8221;<\/b> is said to be more like the <b>Tarantino<\/b> of  old. I&#8217;ll be there hoping that&#8217;s true.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Troy&#8221;<\/b> is hoping to live up to <b>&#8220;Gladiator&#8221;<\/b> [not to  mention <b>Homer&#8217;s &#8220;The IIiad&#8221;<\/b>] and<b> Brad Pitt <\/b>is leading the way. Ya  just gotta support the <b>gladiator<\/b> revivial. ; )\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Ladykillers&#8221; <\/b>teams the <b>Cohen Brothers<\/b> and <b>Tom Hanks<\/b>.  This one looks strange. Well, what&#8217;d ya expect?\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;The Chronicles of Riddick&#8221;<\/b> is the movie I&#8217;m most anticipating at  this point [Well, except for <b>&#8220;Shade&#8221;<\/b>&#8230; and <b>&#8220;Sky Captain and the World  of Tomorrow<\/b>&#8220;]. Hmmm&#8230; where have you heard that before.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;The Incredibles&#8221;<\/b> is from <b>Brad<\/b> [<b>&#8220;The Iron Giant&#8221;<\/b>]  <b>Bird<\/b> and<b> Pixar<\/b>. You just know it&#8217;s going to be fun.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Starsky and Hutch<\/b>&#8221; looks like fun, but I bet I&#8217;ll wait for a  rental.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Spider-Man 2&#8221;<\/b> looks to be the box office champ. The buzz  is even better than the first.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;The Manchurian Candidate&#8221;<\/b> is an updating of the cold war thriller  and stars <b>Denzel Washington<\/b> and <b>Meryl Strepp<\/b>. When was the last  time I was looking forward to a <b>Meryl Streep<\/b> movie?\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Shrek 2&#8221;<\/b> &#8211; I guess I should see the first one first.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Alexander&#8221;<\/b> -[Ya just gotta support the <b>gladiator<\/b> revivial. ;  ) ] and this one stars <b>Colin Farrell <\/b>and is directed by <b>Oliver  Stone<\/b>!\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;King Arthur&#8221;<\/b> &#8211; remember what I said about <b>gladiator<\/b> movies?  Well, this one <b>isn&#8217;t <\/b>one!\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Dawn of the Dead&#8221;<\/b> is a retelling of the <b>George Romero<\/b>  classic. I&#8217;ll be there, but still wonder why <b>Romero<\/b> isn&#8217;t doing  another&#8230;\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: arial;\"><b>&#8220;Hellboy&#8221;<\/b> is the movie I&#8217;m most anticipating at this point  [Well, except for <b>&#8220;Shade&#8221;<\/b>&#8230; and <b>&#8220;Sky Captain and the World of  Tomorrow<\/b>&#8220;.. and&#8230; aw&#8230; nevermind&#8230;]\n<\/li>\n<li><b style=\"font-family: arial;\">&#8220;Van Helsing&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"> will be out soon.
