And piece of my childhood went with him. You see, <\/span><b style=\"font-family: arial;\">Bob Keeshan<\/b><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"> was <\/span><b style=\"font-family: arial;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvparty.com\/lostterrytoons.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Captain Kangaroo<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">.<\/span><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Even if you&#8217;re too young to have ever watched <b>Captain Kangaroo<\/b>, I&#8217;ll bet you know what a huge part he played in the lives of kids growing up in the <b>50&#8217;s, 60&#8217;s, 70&#8217;s<\/b> and even the <b>80&#8217;s<\/b>! Each morning as a child, I can remember sitting in front of the television waiting for the<b> Captain<\/b> to get his big key ring full of keys to open the <b>Treasure House<\/b>. Then we&#8217;d wait to see who would pop in&#8230; <b>Mister Green Jeans<\/b>, <b>Bunny Rabbit<\/b>, <b>Mr. Moose<\/b> [watch out for falling ping pong balls], <b>Grandfather Clock<\/b>&#8230; there were cartoons and all kinds of cool stuff [for kids].<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">I outgrew the <b>Captain Kangaroo<\/b> show well before the <b>60&#8217;s<\/b> ended, but I never outgrew the good feeling that it left me as a child.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Our thoughts and prayers go out to <b>Mr. Keeshan<\/b>&#8216;s family and friends.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bob Keeshan died today.
