{"id":9422,"date":"2014-01-04T15:51:34","date_gmt":"2014-01-04T19:51:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=9422"},"modified":"2020-08-11T19:01:33","modified_gmt":"2020-08-11T23:01:33","slug":"z-view-jack-reacher","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=9422","title":{"rendered":"Z-View: &#8220;Jack Reacher&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2014\/z010714jackreacher_poster.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"741\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pitch<\/span>:<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201dHey, let&#8217;s do a movie adaptation of one of <strong>Lee Child&#8217;s<\/strong> best selling<strong> Jack Reacher<\/strong> novels and get <strong>Tom Cruise<\/strong> to star.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;But <strong>Jack Reacher<\/strong> is described in the novels as being 6&#8242; 5&#8243; &#8212; a modern day giant. &nbsp;<strong>Tom Cruise<\/strong> is pretty short and fans of the novels will hate the casting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;<strong>Tom Cruise<\/strong> is in so who cares about the miscasting. &nbsp;What do you say?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s do it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tagline<\/span>:<\/strong>&nbsp; \u201cThe law has limits. He does not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Overview<\/span>:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong> James Barr<\/strong>, a former military sniper, kills five random people. &nbsp;He&#8217;s quickly caught in what appears to be an open-and-shut case. &nbsp;The evidence is overwhelming. &nbsp;<strong>Barr<\/strong> claims he didn&#8217;t do it and tells his defense attorney to get <strong>Jack Reacher<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Reacher<\/strong> shows up on his own. &nbsp;<strong>Reacher<\/strong> is a former <strong>Army Criminal Investigator<\/strong> who is now living off the grid. &nbsp;<strong>Reacher<\/strong> is there to prove that <strong>Barr<\/strong> committed the crime since <strong>Reacher<\/strong> knows<strong> Barr<\/strong> got away with a similar killing when deployed overseas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Reacher<\/strong> looks at the evidence and fairly quickly determines that <strong>Barr<\/strong> was used as a patsy and didn&#8217;t kill those murdered. &nbsp;As he digs into the case, <strong>Reacher<\/strong> becomes the target of those behind the killings and a bigger conspiracy.<\/p>\n<p>*** Beware \u2013 minor spoilers are found below ***<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Good<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tom Cruise<\/strong> plays <strong>Jack Reacher<\/strong> as if he knows he is not only the <strong>smartest<\/strong> but also the <strong>baddest<\/strong> man in the room. &nbsp;<strong>Reacher<\/strong> doesn&#8217;t flaunt either ability, but he won&#8217;t back down from showing either ability when pressed.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Because <strong>Cruise<\/strong> isn&#8217;t a 6&#8217;5&#8243;
