Which Big BangTheory Character Are You?

I’m certainly not bragging about being most like Howard Wolowitz.

He’s the character I got when I took Zimbio’s quiz, Which Big  Bang Theory Character Are You?

I was surprised that I came out as Wolowitz.  Maybe I shouldn’t be though.

I am fairly confident… probably a bit quirky too.  I definitely use humor and I do love my mama. [“Always be kind to your mother.”]

Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised at all.

Which Musical Should You Star In?

I took Buzzfeed’s quiz, Which Musical Should You Star In?  The correct answer is the one without music.

I can’t sing.

Let me rephrase that.  I can’t sing well.  As in no one would want to hear me sing in a musical or otherwise.

With that said, if I were to star in a musical, perhaps Chorus Line would be the one for me.  I am full of hope, earnestness, am enthusiastic and highly competitive.  I just can’t sing.

Felix Baumgartner’s Record-Breaking Free-Fall

Were you watching live when Felix Baumgartner jumped from the edge of space, 24 miles up?

If you were viewing live, you remember the thrill of Baumgartner free-falling faster than the speed of sound and the nervousness wondering would he live through it all and land safely.

GoPro has released a high-def video of Baumgartner’s recording breaking jump and you can see it here.

Which Decade Do You Actually Belong In?

I took Buzzfeed’s quiz, Which Decade Do You Actually Belong In?  My guess before taking the quiz is that it would come out that I belonged in the 1960’s or 70’s.  I was a bit surprised that “my decade” turned out to be the 1950’s.

Looking at the description though it does make sense.  I do long for a simpler time when people were polite and followed the rules.

I’m “Toy Story.” Which Pixar Movie are You?

When I took Buzzfeed’s Which Pixar Movie are You?  I got Toy Story.  It went on to say…

You are a natural leader and pioneer while also being easily approachable and well-liked — a balance you maintain perfectly. You may also have a thing for the ’90s.

I’d like to think that all those characteristics are true, except for the thing for the 90’s.  I’m a 70’s guy.

19 Things You Probably Didn’t Know about Pretty Woman

Did you notice the title on the movie poster above?

You were probably expecting to see Pretty Woman the title the movie was released as.  Did you know that the movie was originally titled $3,000?  It was because the was the price for a night with Julia Roberts’ character.

Well, she was a high-priced hooker, you know.

Studio execs didn’t think that their movie if titled $3,000 set the tone of the romantic comedy that they wanted to sell.  So the title changed to Pretty Woman.

Did you know Christopher Reeve, Denzel Washington and Daniel Day-Lewis were reportedly considered for the lead male role… Al Pacino, Albert Brooks and Sylvester Stallone were offered the role as well and turned it down before it went to Richard Gere

You’ll learn all that and a lot more if you check out Buzzfeed’s 19 Things You Probably Didn’t Know about Pretty Woman.

Site Predicts if You’re Conservative or Liberal

I took a 12 question survey by Time Magazine that predicted my politics.  I came out as 85% Conservative and 15% Liberal.

The 85% Conservative rating surprised me. I know it will shock my buddy, John Beatty who thinks I’m a full blown liberal.  I would have guessed that I’d be rated about 50-50 because that’s how this types of surveys usually score me.

What do you know?  I’m a conservative.  Don’t argue with me about it.  Conservatives are always right.

Are You Psychopathic?

According to Professor Kevin Dutton

Psychopathy is a condition that causes people to display anti-social behaviour, lack of empathy and remorse, and fearless dominance.  Everyone has these characteristics to some degree – take the test and find out where you sit on the spectrum.

I took the test and think the results are pretty accurate. The good news is that I didn’t rate all that high on the spectrum scale.  The even better news is that my wife rated lower than me.  Whew!  Who wants to live with a psycho?

If you’d like to find out where you fall on the psychopathic spectrum, you can here.

Happy New Year!

We’re about six hours out from the new year.  I hope that 2013 was good for you and yours and that 2014 will be even better.

I’ve been chilling out with The Twilight Zone marathon on Syfy, but tradition will hold and we will flip over long enough to see the countdown from Times Square at midnight.  If seeing the new year in by watching the ball drop is one of your traditions you’ll probably get a kick out  of 12 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About New Year’s Eve in Times Square.

See ya next year!
