This George Romero action figure from Retrobandtoys is just too cool. I love the packaging art even more than the figure!

I’ve known Joel Carroll for several years. Whenever I would talk to Joel about a Stallone sketch Joel would beg off because he felt he wasn’t good at capturing likenesses.
Recently Joel was sketching for charity and I hit him up again. It was for charity so how could Joel refuse? He didn’t and you can see the end result above. I really like it!
You can see more of Joel’s art on twitter.

This photo of legendary muscle man, Steve Reeves as Superman was just so cool I had to share it.

I’ve been a Cully Hamner fan for years. [In fact Cully was the first artist I approached to do a Stallone sketch when I started collecting them.] Check out the cool art Cully created for the HeroesCon 30th Anniversary.

Here’s the latest cast photo from Expendables 3. Would you like to see a much bigger version?

Scott Quick does the web strip Camden Bottoms. I met Scott at MegaCon this year. I took a look at Scott’s sketchbook and decided to see if he’d be interested in doing a Stallone sketch. He was. I ended up getting two. This is the first. I posted the second last week [confusing, huh?].
If you’re so inclined you can check out Scott’s Camden Bottoms!

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the ambush of Bonnie and Clyde…
… [the] Depression era Romeo and Juliet. Brandishing high-powered machine guns and driving the newly invented Ford V-8s, Bonnie and Clyde are mythologized as Robin Hoods for the poor and destitute who had been failed by the American political and financial institutions…
If you’d like to know more about Bonnie and Clyde here are a couple of excellent sources:

One of the things I love about going to comic book conventions is meeting new artists… or at least artists that are new to me. When I was at MegaCon this year, I met Scott Quick.

This morning’s post is for all the Steranko fans out there. (Of course that should be everyone.)
There’s a very cool fan site dedicated to the art of Steranko. It’s called The Drawings of Steranko. Click over and get happy.

We haven’t posted a music mashup in a while, so here’s one today and it’s a good ‘un.
They’ve taken John Lennon’s Imagine and speed it up and Paul McCartney’s Band On the Run and slowed it down. The end result is sweet!
I give you: Imagine the Band.

Elliott Fernandez makes his second, but not hopefully not last appearance in our Stallone Sketch Gallery with his take on Sly as Barney Ross.
You can see more of Elliott’s art here and here. If you want to keep up with Elliott’s latest, you can follow him on Twitter.

Today we have Sly as Rocky with Burgess Meredith as Mickey drawn by Shawn Surface. The scan doesn’t nearly come close to doing this piece justice — it doesn’t show all of the art and the contrast is off.
Shawn is an all-around nice guy and his art should be getting more attention. So why not check out his site and give him some love?

There’s an old saying that “The clothes make the man.” Perhaps that is never more true than in movies. We can tell a lot about a character by the way he/she dresses.
Check out these 50 Costume Test Photos from Famous Films and you’ll see what I mean.

I am really looking forward to Brick Mansions starring Paul Walker and David Belle. Brick Mansions is a remake of District B13, a French film [that is awesome] that stars David Belle.
Check out the Brick Mansions trailer below and hopefully you’ll agree that we’re in for a fun ride.
