I never grow tired of Matt Wagner‘s Batman.

I’m old enough to remember the glory days of fanzines. Here’s a beautiful cover for Fantastic Fanzine #10 by the legendary artists, Steranko and Joe Sinnott.

Mine is a Long Lonesome Grave by Justin Jordan and Chris Shehan is a four issue mini-series premiering in February 2025 from Omni Press. Here’s the synopsis…
Harley Creed is a bad man. He used to be worse. A violent ex-con with a string of brutal crimes in his past, he only wanted one thing when he finally walked free from prison: to leave Briar Falls, WV, behind and disappear forever. But Harley’s hometown has a strange way of swallowing people whole — call it a consequence of the low-level folk magic that has permeated its darker corners for generations. And now that Harley has returned, pent-up vengeance for his past crimes is about to come roaring back. Somebody has put a hex on him — and Harley has seven days before he dies in twisted, screaming agony. To reverse it, Harley must find and kill his unseen enemy before their curse can reap its terrible end. But in Briar Falls, there’s no shortage of suspects — and Harley is coming for them all. If can’t have peace, at least he can have revenge.

Issue 1 will have four variant covers and retail at $4.99. Above and below are two uncolored preview pages. You can see all of the variant covers and an additional preview page with more details at Comics Beat’s Oni declares MINE IS A LONG, LONESOME GRAVE by Christopher Chiu-Tabet.

Eduardo Risso is best known for his stunning black and white artwork. Series like 100 Bullets, Moonshine, Lono and many others showcase Risso’s talent. What we don’t often get to see is Risso’s painted art. For a glimpse checkout the Risso Paintings gallery at The Bristol Board.

Marshall Rogers is one of my favorite Batman artists. Look at this sketch and the reason is obvious. If you’d like to see a Holy Batman-sized version, click on the art.

Andrew Robinson has a unique take on Deadman and I’m here for it!
When most folks think of Eduardo Risso they think of 100 Bullets or Batman or many different titles/characters. James Bond / 007 is not usually high on that list. Check out the art above and you might think that should change.
If you’d like to see a size worthy of her majesty’s secret service, then click on the image.

When folks think of Mike Zeck, the Punisher is probably the first character that comes to mind. I have no problem with that.
If you think of Captain America, I wouldn’t fault you. (See above and you’ll agree.)
Same if you first think of…
Shang-Chi…
Batman…
Spider-Man…
Kraven…
Well… I’m sure you get what I’m saying.

Check out that amazing cover by Bernie Wrightson. It appeared on the 1978 World Horror Convention program book.

Art Adams draws a great werewolf!

Marv from Frank Miller’s Sin City is one of my all-time favorite characters. I love seeing artists do their “take” on the big lug. Today we have Marv by Marco Renna.

This is a favorite. Mike “Hellboy” Mignola’s Batman and his Rogues Gallery. If you’d like to see a Gallery-Sized version, you can at The Bristol Board.

CONAN THE BARBARIAN: BATTLE OF THE BLACK STONE #1 cover by Gerardo Zaffino. Perfection!

Jill Thompson created the art above. I love that after you focus on Hellboy it takes a second to see the creature lurking behind the door. Well done, Jill Thompson.
Captain America and Bucky have their hands (fists!) full taking on a hoard of Hydra agents thanks to the talents of the amazing by Eduardo Risso. Click on the art to see a battle-royal-sized version!
