“Pamela, a love story” – The Pamela Anderson Documentary – The Poster and Trailer are Here!

Here we have the poster and trailer for Pamela, a love story.  I wasn’t the biggest Pamela Anderson fan.  I never watched Baywatch.  I did  watch her Barb Wire movie (mainly because it was based on a comic by Chris Warner).  And of course I know her from her Playboy appearances and the sex tape.  Surprisingly since I’m not a big fan, this documentary does have me interested.

Pamela Anderson defined a decade. Now she will define herself.

Pamela, a love story is only on Netflix January 31.

In her own words, through personal video and diaries, Pamela Anderson shares the story of her rise to fame, rocky romances and infamous sex tape scandal.

Merry Christmas and “Yes, Timmy, There is a Santa Claus!”

Merry Christmas!

Several years ago John Beatty and I teamed up to create “Yes, Timmy, There is a Santa Claus!”  John pencilled, inked and colored what I wrote.  The story was published in a charity Christmas comic by Tim Gordon.

Every couple of years I like to repost the story.  What you see below is the result of our efforts.  I hope that you enjoy them.

“The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special” (2022) starring Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff and the Legendary Kevin Bacon / Z-View

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special (2022)

Director:  James Gunn

Screenplay: James Gunn

Stars: Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel (voice), Bradley Cooper (voice), Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker (voice) and Kevin Bacon

Tagline: None.

The Plot…

Mantis and Drax want to get the perfect gift for Peter “Starlord” Quill.  They decide that Peter’s boyhood hero, Kevin Bacon would fit the ticket.  So Mantis and Drax head to earth to kidnap the legendary Kevin Bacon! What could go wrong?

Thoughts (beware of spoilers)…

I love that Marvel is putting together these one hour specials.  The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special is a great follow up to the Halloween Werewolf by Night Special.  It’s also cool that Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, and Michael Rooker reprise their roles. Drax is always a hoot, and Kevin Bacon running for his life from aliens is more fun than it should be.

Of course like all good Holiday Specials, this one will leave you will a smile and warm feelings.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special earns 4 of 5 stars.

Is This the Best Curt Swan Superman Drawing Ever?

Is this the best Curt Swan Superman drawing ever?  It gets my vote!

Curt Swan first drew Superman in 1948.  After that he drew most every comic in the Superman “family” (Superman, Superboy, World’s Finest, Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen, etc.).  In the 1960s, Swan’s Superman became “the” definitive model for the character.

What happens when the story of Dirt’s pain gets stolen by others and the world he thought he understood turns upside down? “Dave Stevens: Drawn to Perfection” – The Poster and Trailer are Here!

The poster and trailer for Dave Stevens: Drawn to Perfection is here.  I cannot wait to see this!

Dave Stevens was a once-in-a-lifetime artist who created the hit comic book series The Rocketeer that reintroduced the world to ’50s pin-up queen Bettie Page and was adapted into a beloved feature film. Dave carried with him a style born of 1930s American Pop Culture, an era he never experienced firsthand, but lived on in his heart and through his illustrations. His award-winning, 35-year career spanned advertising, comics, animation, movies, and TV working with luminaries like Jack Kirby, Doug Wildey, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, John Landis, and Joe Johnston. Widely considered one of the best illustrators of his generation, Dave Stevens lived life the way he drew, meticulously pursuing a perfection he saw in his mind. His elegant brush work and iconic imagery continue to attract fans and inspire new generations of artists.
