Drew Struzan’s Limited Edition “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” Prints!

Hellboy II director, Guillermo del Toro commissioned Drew Struzan to create a poster to promote the film.  The studio decided not to use Struzan’s art and so the poster was previously only available as a giveaway print at New York Comic con in 2008… until now.  Well, tomorrow.

The one shown above is a Limited Edition of 450, 24×36 inches, Hand Numbered Offset Lithograph Print With Gold Hot Foil Title, Printed on 300gsm Archival Paper.  It retails for $85.

The other version doesn’t have the Hellboy II: The Golden Army logo or movie info at the bottom.  It has a Limited Edition of 250, 24×36 inches, Hand Numbered Offset Lithograph Print, Printed on 300gsm Archival Paper.  It retails for $75.

If you’re interested you will be able to pick up both versions of the poster on Thursday the 31st of March, starting at 1pm Eastern from Vice-Press.com and Sideshow Art Prints.

‘Hopeless’ is a 100-page graphic novel that begins on Chrisler Street, a dead end street in the fictional town of Hope, New York, enduring the turmoil of the late 60s. Set during the Vietnam war, Hope, like thousands of small towns across America, has been gutted by the draft, the horrors of Vietnam, and the ongoing battle for civil rights.

Now, that landscape will be invaded by one final, horrific twist- the Tagged.

Who are the Tagged? Those unfortunate souls infected by vicious parasites during their time deep in the jungles of Vietnam. These parasite-infected soldiers are about to unknowingly unleash a new type of hell on their hometowns. Slowly driven mad, their minds ravaged by mind-destroying parasites, these Tagged soldiers will viciously tear their communities apart.

The KING OF SPIES is Coming!

The King of Spies trade paperback collects issues 1 – 4 of the King of Spies comic.  Written by Mark Millar with art by Matteo Scalera and colors by Ogur Yildrim, King of Spies tells the story of…

The world’s greatest secret agent (who) has six months to live. Does he die quietly in a hospital bed or make up for a lifetime of bad decisions? He’s been propping up an unfair system for over forty years. Now he knows where all the bodies are buried and has nothing to lose as he turns his guns on everyone who ever made a buck as they created the mess we’re in right now.

I’ve been reading King of Spies as the individual issues come out and highly recommend it!

TRAIN 8 – Zombies on a Train is Coming!

Let your local comic shop know if you’re interested.  As for me, I’m on board.

“A Calculated Man” – New Crime Series from Paul Tobin & Alberto Alburquerque is Coming!

A Calculated Man is a new crime series coming this June from Aftershock Comics and creaters Paul Tobin (writer), Alberto Alburquerque (artist), Mark Englert (colorist) and Taylor Esposito (letterer).  Here’s how Aftershock Comics describes the series…

A verifiable math genius, Jack Beans used to run the numbers for the Pinafore crime family, until one day he ran them too well and concluded that the only way out of this life was in a casket or Witness Protection. So, he turned state’s evidence and ran.

Now, the Pinafores are out to end their favorite accountant. Little do they know that Jack’s skills with math and his perfect memory have made him a better killer than they ever could have realized. What follows is a journey full of murder, mayhem and mathematics.

Here’s writer Paul Tobin’s synopsis…

“It’s John Wick mixed with A Beautiful Mind when ex-mobster / math genius Jack Beans decides three years in the witness protection program is more than enough, and that all he needs to do to safely return to his old life is…kill every last member of the Pinafore crime family. It’s a tall order, but Jack Beans is no ordinary man. First, he’s GOOD at math. Not just “What’s the square root of nine?” good, but “prove the existence of three differently-sized infinites by use of the Continuum Hypothesis” good. He literally sees the world as a math problem, and was born with synesthesia: he sees numbers as colors, and his memory is absolute. It’s these skills Jack will have to use to make his hopes of staying alive add up to anything other than zero!”

Deal me in.
