“Cobra” Poster by GRÉGORY SACRÉ!
I’m a huge fan of alternate posters, so I’ve seen and enjoyed quite a few over the years. I’ve seldom seen one as clever as this Cobra poster by Gregory Sacre.
It’s cool how Sacre took the crime data from the opening of Cobra and incorporated it into the poster along with the iconic Cobra 45. And how about the Cobra logo Sacre designed? This poster is a winner!

The Black Terror: Seduction of Deceit by Beau Smith & Chuck Dixon & Dan Brereton
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of The Black Terror: Seduction of Deceit mini-series written by Beau Smith & Chuck Dixon with art by Dan Brereton. I’ve been calling for a nice trade reprint of the original series for years. (Dan Brereton hinted that one may be coming in the next year.) Even still, from time to time I need to remind everyone what a great series it was.
Consider this today’s reminder. ; )

Andrew Farago Takes on Jack Carter and John Wick!
I recently saw that several artists were doing commissions at reduced rates in support of The Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. How could I pass on a chance to get a new commission for my Stallone-themed Sketch Collection AND support a good cause at the same time?
I couldn’t.
I looked at the list and decided to go with Andrew Farago. Andrew is not only an artist and author but also the Chairman of the Northern California chapter of the National Cartoonists Society and the curator of the Cartoon Art Museum! I asked for Jack Carter and John Wick and Andrew came through like a champ!
If you’re a sketch collector, The Cartoon Museum’s Sketch-A-Thon gets my highest recommendation. The prices are super reasonable, there are several artists to choose from and there is even a digital sketch option!

Chris Peterson’s Stanley from “Lords of Flatbush”!
Christopher Peterson is a Shuster-nominated comic artist who has worked for Dark Horse, Boom Studios, Image, Black Mask, and other companies.
Back in 2016, I saw that Chris’ computer died and he was sketching to raise money to replace his work station. I set up a commission with Chris and he sent me this cool digital rendition of his take on Sly from Lords of Flatbush. You can check out more of Chris’ art here or follow him on Twitter.

Electra & Wolverine by Dan Brereton!
I cannot tell you the last time I bought a super-hero comic. These days I go for crime and horror comics. Dan Brereton’s drawing of Electra and Wolverine got me thinking that I really wouldn’t mind seeing a team-up of these two. Written and drawn by the right team or individual and I’d be back to purchasing super hero comics.
