What Song Will Be Played at Your Funeral?

It was determined that the song for my memorial would be We’ll Meet Again by Vera Lynn…

Some of the lyrics from “We’ll Meet Again” that will be about your life: “They’ll be happy to know / That as you saw me go / I was singin’ this song”

When people hear this song at your funeral, they will know you wanted them to celebrate your life and feel at ease about your passing. Your life will have been spent caring for others and being optimistic, so they will follow your lead.

We’ll Meet Again is bit old fashioned but I think the theme is right.  If you want to have some fun, take the quiz and determine the song for you!

Glen Campbell’s “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” – One of the Saddest Songs Ever

Glen Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease a few years ago.  Campbell faced it bravely and decided on one last tour while he was still able.  Now word is that Campbell in the final stages of the disease and “has been moved to 24-hour care.”

Campbell’s record label has released his final studio recording.  Knowing Campbell’s condition makes it one of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard.

“Hey, Hey, We’re The Monkees!”

I was seven years old when The Monkees  tv series premiered on September 12, 1966.  I became an instant and life-long Monkees fan.  I wasn’t alone.

The Monkees tv series won two Emmys (one for Outstanding Comedy Series – beating The Andy Griffith Show,  Bewitched,  Get Smart, and Hogan’s Heroes).  In 1967, The Monkees had four albums hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (the only group to ever do that) and they outsold the Beatles and the Rolling Stones combined.

Torrance, Stallone & Mitchum Say, “Farewell, My Lovely”

Mike Torrance aka The Krayola Kidd is back and he’s brought Sly and Robert Mitchum from Farewell, My Lovely  with him!  Over the coming weeks/months I’ll be posting more of Mike’s sketch card commissions.  My goal is to eventually get a card for every character Sly has played.  We’re well on our way!

So, do ya want to take The Playing Beatles Backwards Devil Worship Quiz?

If you do, you’ll probably beat me.  I scored 70% and the average internet player scores 71.54%.  I thought I’d do better, but second-guessed myself on numbers 5 and 9.

I remember being introduced to the whole hidden messages thing about Paul being dead when I was in junior high.  A new conspiracy theory.  I was intrigued.  Hidden messages in Beatles songs and album covers.  Was Paul really dead and the remaining Beatles trying to send messages to fans?

The crazy thing is Paul may end up being the last Beatle standing.
