Walking Dead 100: Roll Call of the Dead

That’s just half of the wrap-around cover by Charlie Adlard for the 100th issue of The Walking Dead.  You can see a 100th-issue-worthy-sized poster of the cover here thanks to CBR.com.

It’s hard to believe that The Walking Dead is almost to the 100th issue.  I can remember my excitement after reading the first issue and making this post recommending it way back in November of 2004.   The Walking Dead quickly became my favorite regularly published comic and I posted about it a lot over the years.

Now with the ever-increasing popularity of the tv series and the publicity from the 100th issue milestone, it looks like we’re in for several more years of Walking Dead greatness.  My only fear is that there won’t be enough room on the cover of issue 200 for a roll call of the dead.

Don Winslow’s Savages

I really enjoyed Savages by Don Winslow.  Of course what crime fiction loving fan didn’t?

Naturally, I’m looking forward to the movie adaptation starring Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Salma Hyeck, and Benicio Del ToroSavages opens July 6th and although the full length trailer doesn’t break until tomorrow, MTV has the teaser for the trailer here.

If you’re already on board or think Savages is something you’d really dig, then you’ll probably be interested in Don Winslow’s prequel called The Kings of Cool.  It hits the streets on June 19th.
