As cool as the retro-looking poster for The Samaritan is, I like the trailer even better. Samuel L. Jackson as a newly released ex-con under pressure from his parole officer to “not even jaywalk” and his ex-partner’s [who Jackson killed} son’s gang forcing him back into the life… yeah, I’m in.

Today we have Sly as Judge Dredd by Shawn Surface. Shawn is an all-around nice guy and his art should be getting more attention. This is the first of three pieces that I recently picked up from Shawn. The other two will be posted in the coming weeks. Until then, why not check out his site and give him some love?

Empire has an area devoted to movie poster mash-ups. In the Sylvester Stallone section there are several very clever posters. Here are three of my favorites. – Craig

While my anticipation for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows has cooled a bit, I still like his Barnabas character poster.

I saw Wolverine first and then the 2 Bat Men. Pretty clever drawing, eh?
And a tip o’ the cowl to Geek World Order.

Here’s the teaser for the trailer of the Colin Farrell remake of Total Recall?

If the movie The Iceman is half as riveting as listening to the real Iceman, Richard Kuklinski, then we’re in for a very scary movie.
Kuklinski was the 6 foot 5 inch, three hundred pound hitman, who claimed to have killed over 100 men between 1948 and 1986. Kuklinski was finally convicted of five murders in 1988 and sentenced to consecutive life sentences. In 2003, Kuklinski pled guilty of the murder of NYPD detective Peter Calabro.
Kuklinski, once incarcerated was never one to shy away from talking about his killings. His matter of fact discussions of brutal and sadistic killings was chilling and without remorse. Kuklinski died in prison on March 5, 2006. He had been scheduled to testify that Sammy Gravano had ordered the hit on Detective Calabro. After Kuklinski died, the case against Sammy Gravano was dropped.
If you’d like to see an iceberg-sized version of The Iceman poster, you can, thanks to IMPAwards.

Mike Torrance aka The Krayola Kidd scores a “Victory” with his take on Sly as Captain Richard Hatch from one of Sly’s most under-rated movies.
You can see more of Mike’s art at The Daily Sketch with The Krayola Kidd and his Deviant Art site. Mike is available for commissions and his prices are very reasonable.

That’s a very clever image [cover?] to promote Nathon Edmondson and Nic Klein’s new series Dancer.

If you were a fan of The Sopranos, and who wasn’t – fans and critics alike loved the show – (112 Emmy nominations and 21 wins in its 6 season run), then you’ll probably enjoy the excellent April 2012 Vanity Fair interview with all of the shows major players.

Newsarama recently listed their choices for the 10 Best The Walking Dead Moments of Season 2. While I agree with all of their choices, my order would have been…
10. Glenn Meets Maggie
09. Andrea’s Dead-Eye Shot
08. Hershel and the Farm
07. The Prison
06. Ding! Dong! Who’s in the Well?
05. Carl Gets a Bullet and a Hat
04. Zombie Sophia
03. Dale’s Death
02. Rick Kills Shane, Who Turns
01. Michonne
I also would have added two additional moments:

Wow!
Have you seen Ruin by Wes Ball? Amazing, huh?
Ruin is better than a lot of stuff that makes it to the big screen. Wes Ball is a name to watch. While we’re keeping an eye out for names, let’s add Kevin Riepl to the list for his excellent score.

The new trailer for The Three Stooges has, uh, hit.
It’s no secret that I’m a Stooges fan, heck, aren’t all guys? Before you click on the link below, let me warn you: There’s one mild profanity and it’s followed by a lot of slaps, punches, eye-pokes, and falls that aren’t that funny. I did smile though when I saw the look on Curley’s face at Larry’s prolonged yell when the lobster got a hold him.
Now that you’ve been warned, click away, if you’d like to see the new Three Stooges trailer.
