Here’s the poster and trailer for Daughter of the Wolf starring Gina Carano. I’m surprised she’s not a bigger star. She should be.

Ken Meyer, Jr. presents a monthly column called Ink Stains. In the column Ken (who is an amazing artist) posts a fanzine from his collection. Here’s Ken…
I have a collection of over 200 fanzines from the 60’s-80’s that I plan to scan and talk about, one at a time. I hope to have some of the participants answer a few questions. Many of those participants are established comics professionals now, while some have gone on to other things. I will show a few snippets from each zine and give you a link to download a pdf of the whole thing, which I hope all of you will do!
In Ink Stains 112, Ken shares with us Comic Crusader #14 which is another amazing issue. Comic Crusader #14 features a cover by Dennis Fujitake and Bill Black, more Fujitake and Black art as well as art by Don Newton, Martin Greim, Jack Kirtby, Steve Ditko, a full pager by Steranko, articles, stories and more! What a classic fanzine.
As always, thanks to Ken for bringing back great memories of fandom!

If you’ve never watched Fear the Walking Dead or if you did watch it but gave up on it, please consider giving it a(nother) go. The cast has changed as has the focus. I’ve really enjoyed the new direction.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look!

I can’t say I was ever a big David Crosby fan, but he is a two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame winner and this documentary about him definitely looks interesting.

This is pretty cool. It’s a poster for Kill Me Now Ringo Said the Gringo (an imaginary movie) made for Tarantino’s next film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Here’s a trailer for Evil. The trailer is good. I hope the series holds up.

Ridley Scott Revisits Black Hawk Down in an interview with Geoff Boucher at Deadline and it is worth a read!

Jonathan Maberry’s V-Wars is being adapted into a Netflix series starting this fall. V-Wars concerns humans facing a potential apocalypse not of zombies but of vampires!
As a companion piece and direct tie-in to the V-Wars series, creator Maberry and IDW Publishing are teaming up once more for a fanged foray into this horrific universe with the V-Wars: God of Death one-shot coming to comic shops May 29.
If this sounds like something you’d like SyfyWire has an advanced look: EXCLUSIVE: THE VAMPIRE APOCALYPSE GETS REAL IN IDW’S V-WARS: GOD OF DEATH.

When you talk Dracula, the first name that comes to mind for me is Bela Lugosi. It’s interesting that Bela played Dracula on Broadway four years before making the classic movie. Above is a rare photo from Bela’s Broadway run as the Count.

If you’re as stoked for John Wick 3: Parabellum as I am perhaps this behind the scenes video of Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry training for the action will hold you over.

The Evil trailer is here…

Breaking In (2018)
Director: James McTeigue
Screenplay: Ryan Engle from a story by Jaime Primak Sullivan
Stars: Gabrielle Union, Billy Burke, Richard Cabral, Ajiona Alexus, Levi Meaden, Seth Carr and Mark Furze.
The Pitch: “Let’s turn Tim Lebbon’s novel into a movie.”
Tagline: Payback is a Mother.
The Overview:
After her father is killed in a hit-and-run, Shaun (Union) and her two children travel to his secluded house to prepare it to be sold. Shortly after their arrival four criminals looking for a safe containing four million in cash show up. The thugs take her children hostage, but Shaun is able to escape. With no means of contacting anyone and the nearest help miles away, Shaun realizes she is her children’s only hope.
Gabrielle Union is extremely likable and believable as a mother looking to protect her children. I was glad to see that they didn’t provide her with a martial arts, military or some other background with “special skills.” She’s just a ticked off mom.
Breaking In is predictable in the broad strokes but there are a couple of unexpected surprises which make it a good way to spend an hour and a half.

The Deputy trailer is up there and the synopsis is down there…
From writer/executive producer Will Beall (“Aquaman,” “Gangster Squad”) and director/executive producer David Ayer (“Training Day,” “End of Watch”), DEPUTY brings the spirit of a classic Western and a gritty authenticity to the modern cop drama. When the Los Angeles County’s Sheriff dies, an arcane rule forged back in the Wild West thrusts the most unlikely man into the job: a fifth-generation lawman (Stephen Dorff, “True Detective”), more comfortable taking down bad guys than navigating a sea of politics, who won’t rest until justice is served. DEPUTY also stars Yara Martinez (“Jane the Virgin,” “True Detective”), Brian Van Holt (“Cougar Town”), Siena Goines (“Andi Mack”), Bex Taylor-Klaus (“Arrow”), Shane Paul McGhie (“What Men Want”) and Mark Moses (“Mad Men”).
I’m a huge fan of Will Beall’s novel L.A. Rex and David Ayer’s movies. Deputy has huge potential.
