Laurent Durieux is a...
…Brussels illustrator and graphic artist was only recently discovered in the United States, thanks to a number of high-profile awards and marquee commissions, including a 2013 screenprint of “Jaws”, which caught the eye of the film’s director, Steven Spielberg. The climb from relative obscurity began, though, in 2011, when Durieux was named one of the world’s 200 Best Illustrators by the influential international advertising magazine Lürzer’s Archive.
Durieux is truly an amazing artist. I had a really hard time trying to decide which of his pieces to use with this post.

Gerardo Zaffino [who created the cool Deckard piece shown above], Mack Chater, Tristan Jones, Buzz and Christian DiBari have started a new sketch blog that they call Ink Stained Battle Plans.
I’ve placed it on my Feedly subscription list so I won’t miss an update. If you like what you see, click over and check out the rest of the cool posts.

Can’t really say I’m loving the Daylight’s End poster, but the trailer is another story. The trailer makes me want to see the movie.
So when is Daylight’s End coming out?

NBC has released the first teaser trailer for Constantine, a new weekly series based on the DC/Vertigo comic of the same name.
Check out the trailer below and we’ll catch up right after.
I liked the trailer enough to check out the tv series… but it didn’t inspire me to want to search out the comics.
Perhaps the series will change that.

By a show of hands, how many of you really like dogs?
Ok. Hands down.
Now, how many of you really like zombies?
Excellent. Because those that raised their hands twice are going to really dig Steadfast Stanley.

I am really digging this Rocky and Adrian piece by Aykut Aydoğdu.
I’d never seen any art by Aykut before yesterday, but you can be sure I’ll be watching for more in the future.

I preordered Darwyn Cooke’s illustrated The Hunter by Richard Stark as soon as I saw it was available.
Since you read my blog, my guess is you will [or did] as well.
IDW has a page devoted to the new edition to keep fans in the know.

They don’t make book covers like this any more. They should.

Here’s the new trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!

This George Romero action figure from Retrobandtoys is just too cool. I love the packaging art even more than the figure!
