Cody & Sable Tried Blackmail

Over at Ryan Cody’s Blog, he talks about a pitch for a comic series that he and writer, Mark Sable made last year.  Cody says…

The idea behind Blackmail was that a vigilante and a crime boss face off against each other from behind masks, only to be best friends in real life. It was all about hidden lives, sacrifice and of course, Blackmail.

I wish someone had picked up the series, because I would have enjoyed seeing how the story played out.  You can read more about the pitch and see preview pages over at Ryan’s blog.

Hammer Time!

My guess is that several regular ZONERS (especially Bill Black and Chris Mills) will end up with the recently announced Art of Hammer book.  It’ll feature the poster art from the Hammer horror films.  It’s currently on sale for less than twenty buck which is a pretty scary deal.

The Batman Becomes The Fixer

Instead Miller has decided to make the lead character his own.  He’s called The Fixer and he’s an adventurer who just happens to be ex-special ops.  So you can imagine what happens when terrorists attack and he’s around!  You can find out more about the changes here.

Big Monster News

Harry Knowles at AICN recently announced that AICN is going to present and run the Famous Monsters of Filmland.com website.  This is especially exciting news because Harry has a passion for horror films.  He also has a huge fan base that he can attract to the site.

I love horror/monster movies and when I was a kid Famous Monsters of Filmland was always a fun read.  But up until Harry’s announcement, I wasn’t even aware that there was a Famous Monsters website.

In other monster news, /Film posted a report that Tim Burton is developing a 3D film called MonsterpocalypseTim Burton and the title alone make it worth a look.
