My guess is that several regular ZONERS (especially Bill Black and Chris Mills) will end up with the recently announced Art of Hammer book. It’ll feature the poster art from the Hammer horror films. It’s currently on sale for less than twenty buck which is a pretty scary deal.

Harry Knowles at AICN recently announced that AICN is going to present and run the Famous Monsters of Filmland.com website. This is especially exciting news because Harry has a passion for horror films. He also has a huge fan base that he can attract to the site.
I love horror/monster movies and when I was a kid Famous Monsters of Filmland was always a fun read. But up until Harry’s announcement, I wasn’t even aware that there was a Famous Monsters website.
In other monster news, /Film posted a report that Tim Burton is developing a 3D film called Monsterpocalypse. Tim Burton and the title alone make it worth a look.
Harry at AICN posted this wicked Drew Struzan poster for AMC’s adaptation of The Walking Dead series. Harry has a ZOMBIELAND-sized version that could truly be your wallpaper and you can see it here.
This Walking Dead motion comic is the coolest thing on the internet right now. Oh, and you might also want to check out a new (and much larger version) of The Walking Dead character poster below!

Three years ago it was announced that Johnny Depp had signed on to play Barnabus Collins in a big screen adaptation of the 60’s cult hit tv show, Dark Shadows. I’m happy to report that things are looking good for a January 2011 filming start with Tim Burton at the helm.
This trailer for Predators does exactly what a good trailer should. It makes me want to see the movie.
Today while I was checking out Bookgasm.com, I came across a review of Blood Oath by Christopher Farnsworth. I’d never heard of the book or author before, but the tag line intrigued me:

So I read a little further and was told…
Christopher Farnsworth’s book is an amalgam of the HELLBOY comic and the men’s adventure series THE DESTROYER.
The book sounded interesting and then I came across this trailer that made me want to learn a bit more. So I went to the Amazon page and saw that it had 36 customer reviews with an overall 4 1/2 star rating and with no rating lower than a 3 [and only 4 of those]! I’m putting Blood Oath on my To Be Bought List… or perhaps even my Father’s Day Request List [Hint! Hint! to my sons].
If you’re a regular ZONE reader, then you probably know that my buddy, Bill Black, is not only a comic publisher, but also makes low-budget horror and super hero movies. The digital age has allowed more and more folks to make and market films.
I was recently contacted by Steve Kasansza, a regular reader of my StalloneZone site. Steve and some of his buddies made a horror film called Lurking Under Life. Film Filia scored 74 new photos from Predators. I’ve been looking forward to this sequel. My guess is that a lot of the folks that thought that Adrien Brody wouldn’t be convincing as a tough guy able to go toe-to-toe with a predator will change their opinion after seeing the still above and the other 73 here.
Hercules over at Ain’t It Cool News scored some behind the scenes photos from AMC’s adaptation of The Walking Dead. This series just keeps looking better and better.
AMC’s The Walking Dead blog is really doing an excellent job of updating fans as filming progresses. That’s the first production photo of a Walking Dead zombie.
