Alexis Ziritt and Rambo
Alexis Ziritt makes his first appearance in my Stallone Theme Sketch Collection. Alexis is the co-founder of Fistful Apparel and the indie comics co-op Calavera Comics. When I saw that Alexis was taking sketch card commissions, I decided to get on board for a couple. I asked Alexis to pick two from Jack Carter, John Rambo and Cobra. Alexis liked the theme and decided to do all three.
Looking Forward to a “Red Dawn”

Kirkman & Moore Settle Suit!
Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore have amicably settled their suit over The Walking Dead. In a joint statement sent to CBR.com it was announced that…
- “Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore are pleased to jointly announce that they have reached an amicable agreement in their respective lawsuits and all parties have settled the entire matter to everyone’s mutual satisfaction. Neither side will be discussing any details but will instead happily and productively spend their time focused on their own work and move on in their lives.”

X-Men 133 Not #1??
I was checking out CBR.com’s Top Five Most Iconic Wolverine Covers and couldn’t believe that Byrne and Austin’s cover for X-Men 133 not only wasn’t #1, but it didn’t even make the list?
Are you kidding me?
This issue is not only iconic, but was one of the most anticipated comics ever! The storyline had been set up for 133 to focus on Wolverine’s single-handed rescue of the team from the Hellfire Club.

Jesse Munoz: Jack Carter – No Shades of Gray
Jesse Munoz makes a return appearance in my Stallone Theme Sketch Collection. Big thanks to Jesse for his excellent take on Sly as Jack Carter and for the quick response time. Not only did Jesse provide me with this black and white version but also this grayscale version as well. Jesse is a great choice if you collect sketches!

Stallone to Helm Hunter
Bloody Disgusting has reported that…
- Stallone and Lionsgate have inked up a deal to fast track Hunter for 2014 release date. Stallone is set to star, write and direct, which will be filmed in 3-D.
I really hope this pans out. Hunter was written by James Byron Huggins specifically with Sly in mind. It’s an awesome book that will translate into a very cool movie.

Let’s hope everything lines up and Hunter gets made with Stallone at the helm.
Django Unchained Breaks Into Comics
Quentin Tarantino says he’s excited that Django Unchained is not only going to premiere in theaters this December, but that the first issue of (a five issue mini series based on) Django Unchained will drop as well.
R.M. (Scalped) Guera will provide the art and Tarantino’s screenplay will provide the story.

Killing Them Softly
I like this poster for Killing Them Softly. My only quibble would be that it reminds me of a poster for a war movie more than a gritty crime drama.
I hope that Killing Them Softly lives up to advance reviews since I’m looking forward to seeing this in a theater.

Craig’s Back – Where’s He Been?
Well, it’s been a while hasn’t it.
My computer crashed on the Thursday before Labor Day weekend. I took it into the shop ( a great local place called Volusia Computers) the next morning. What followed was a run of bad luck I haven’t seen since Big John Beatty busted out on triple aces twice in a row in a game of In-Between.
But that’s a story for another time.
The guys at Volusia Computers were great, but my computer could not be resuscitated. We almost had it back, but then it died again. At that point I decided to buy a refurbished, but bigger and faster computer. It was ready for pick-up and started experiencing minor problems when they were showing me it’s features. So for my inconvenience I was upgraded to an even better computer for a lower price.
The downside was that it took some time to get my new refurbished computer ready for me to take home. Oh, and did I mention that while all this was going on that my big screen tv died? It did.
FPL came out and installed a smart merter and didn’t tell us to turn off appliances. So for a few days I was without my computer AND my big screen tv.
All is good now. I’ve got a new tv and new (to me) computer. Both are improvements over what I had. So…
I’m back, baby.
