Joey Lee Cabral describes himself as a “Draw at Home Dad”. I came across Cabral taking commissions on Whatnot. At one of his sessions, I was able to get in my request for his take on Sly Stallone as Jack Carter.
It was cool seeing the piece created live. If you collect sketches, you should consider getting something from Joey Lee Cabral.

One late afternoon back in 1986, I got a call from John Beatty. John said, he was going to work on a painting of Rocky that night after dinner. He invited me over to watch. Of course I took him up on the offer. John worked on the piece through the night. He finished it in one long session.
The art above is not a picture of that painting. Years later John was messing around with a photo of the painting and came up with this.

Tony Stella created this poster for the classic Columbo episode Etude in Black. I’d love to see posters made for each episode of Columbo and collected into a book. Then we could move on to doing the same for other classic television shows.
We need more Dusty Star stories by Andrew Robinson. At least we have this beuatiful Dusty art by Andrew to hold us over until (if) we ever get more.

When Tom Richmond of MAD magazine fame opened up his commission list and I jumped on with a request for Rocky (Sly Stallone) and Clubber (Mr. T) from Rocky III. Mr. Richmond added guest referee Alfred E. Neuman! As you can see Mr. Richmond came through with a knockout, which is no surprise.
This was my first commission from Tom Richmond. It is larger than my scanner and the photo doesn’t do it justice.
If you’re a sketch collector, I highly recommend Tom Richmond. He creates great art, has wonderful communication and packages the art securely.
