How about a new poster and trailer for John Wick?

October is a great month for horror movie fans. So many horror/monster movies are shown it is almost impossible to keep up with them all.
Wouldn’t it be great if someone would compile a listing to simplify our lives?
Joe Reid did and The Atlantic published it – Behold, Every Horror On TV This October!

I thought that since today was Friday we needed a post that would take us into the weekend with a smile.
What better than a shot of Lee Marvin from Point Blank drawn by Darwyn Cooke?
Perhaps an even bigger version?

I like this poster for Jupiter Ascending. I think the movie is going to be a bit too far out there for me though.
If you’d like to see a Jupiter-size version of the poster, IMPAwards has it.

I’m not in love with this poster, but for some reason I like it better than I feel I should.
Maybe because that’s the feeling I have about the movie, John Wick. I’m going to like it better than I should.
Is that a bad thing?

Here’s the poster for Reach Me. If you’d like to see a bigger version, you can.

With Halloween rapidly approaching it was a good time for Buzzfeed to post 10 Frightening Pre-Code Horror Movies You Need to Watch by Stacey Grant91.
I’ve seen seven of the ten, but that still leaves Dr. X, The Mask of Fu Manchu and Murders in the Zoo that I need to give a go.
I’ll bet Chris Mills and a few other regular readers have seen them all.

I was seven years old when The Monkees tv series premiered on September 12, 1966. I became an instant and life-long Monkees fan. I wasn’t alone.
The Monkees tv series won two Emmys (one for Outstanding Comedy Series – beating The Andy Griffith Show, Bewitched, Get Smart, and Hogan’s Heroes). In 1967, The Monkees had four albums hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (the only group to ever do that) and they outsold the Beatles and the Rolling Stones combined.
Obviously there were (and still are) quite a few Monkees‘ fans out there. If you’re one, you’ll want to check out Eddie Deezen‘s post Hey, Hey, We’re the Monkees at Neatorama.

If you’re a Star Trek fan, even if you know most of the facts (I didn’t know 7 this time), you’ll still get a kick out of the piece.

Fury is the movie I am most looking forward to between now and the end of the year. October 17th can’t get here fast enough. At least we have the poster above and the featurette below to help hold us over.

Fans of horror movies, especially classic horror films will want to check out the interview with Sara Karloff, Boris Karloff’s daughter!
