Moore Takes Kirkman to Federal Court

On February 9, 2012, we posted that Tony Moore, the original artist of the hit comic book series The Walking Dead had sued long-time [former?] friend, Robert Kirkman. Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, claiming that he [Moore} was in truth the co-creator of the series.

A few days later Kirkman’s response was in the news.

At the time I had hope that Moore and Kirkman would be able to come to a mutually satisfactory solution soon.  Unfortunately, that wasn’t to be.  CBR.com has posted the complaint that Moore has now filed in federal court to be named co-author of The Walking Dead; Brit and Battle Pope.

I hate the reality of this situation.

The Future of The Walking Dead

The fine folks at Shock Till You Drop recently caught up with Robert Kirkman and executive producer David Alpert to find out what we should expect in the new season of The Walking Dead.  Here’s a tidbit:

“The biggest thing I have to say is that, as the storytelling picked up at the end of season two, and the speed of events happening — well, we’re increasing it. Season three is going to be non-stop, in your face, intense. This is the point in the show that I’ve been excited about giving the audience since season one.”

Walking Dead: The Official Magazine

You’re looking at the cover for the first issue of a new quarterly magazine, officially sanctioned and dedicated to all things Walking DeadWalking Dead: The Official Magazine will premiere on October 23rd and feature articles, interviews and behind-the-scenes looks at the comic and television series.

Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead had this to say:

“This magazine will be your one stop destination for all the news pertaining to the comic, TV show, video game, toys, games, and whatever else exists in the ever-expanding Walking Dead universe! If it’s happening, you’ll find out all about it right here!”

Thanks and a tip o’ Carl’s hat to CBR.com for their full report.

Resident Evil: Retribution

If my life depended upon the right answer, I might be able to guess how many Resident Evil movies have been made.  Of course it would be a guess.  And I’d only do it to save my life.

The Resident Evil movies (however many there may be) are not great films by any stretch of the imagination.  I will confess, however, that I think I’ve seen them all.  At least the ones that have made their way to the SYFY channel.

I watch them, enjoy them at the time of viewing and then pretty much forget the details.  That’s because, at least as best as I can remember, they’re all pretty much about Milla Jovovich fighting zombies and other creatures created by the evil Umbrella Corporation.  Which is a fun way to spend a late night on the weekend when there’s nothing else on.

Guess what?  There’s a new Resident Evil movie coming out.  It’s called Resident Evil: Retribution and here’s the trailer.  I wish I could tell you where this new movie fits in to the Resident Evil timeline, but it’d only be a guess.

Car of Choice for the Zombie Apocalypse

I’ve been a Hyundai fan for over twenty years.  I currently drive a XG350, which is affectionately called the Jack Carter mobile by some of my friends.  Both of my sons drive Hyundais which have been passed down to them.

Hyundais are great cars which get wonderful gas mileage and seldom need repairs.  Little did I know that Hyundai would be the car company of choice should there be a zombie apocalypse!

Walking Dead 100: Roll Call of the Dead

That’s just half of the wrap-around cover by Charlie Adlard for the 100th issue of The Walking Dead.  You can see a 100th-issue-worthy-sized poster of the cover here thanks to CBR.com.

It’s hard to believe that The Walking Dead is almost to the 100th issue.  I can remember my excitement after reading the first issue and making this post recommending it way back in November of 2004.   The Walking Dead quickly became my favorite regularly published comic and I posted about it a lot over the years.

Now with the ever-increasing popularity of the tv series and the publicity from the 100th issue milestone, it looks like we’re in for several more years of Walking Dead greatness.  My only fear is that there won’t be enough room on the cover of issue 200 for a roll call of the dead.
